Right, I've spent the last few hours whipping myself over my hair-cloth shirt.:orb_bonk:

I was wondering why my new pads were squealing so badly after just putting about 20miles on my new 312mm brakes (new discs+ pads, Stu's old calipers/carriers). (imagine micky mouse fighting with minnie mouse about her lack of libido over a PA system....)

Little PM to that true gentleman Ross revealed that I had got the inner and outer pads back-asswards!!!!

He didn't laugh at me in his reply (he should have! )

Swopped Left and Right side pads, then inner and outer to respect the same direction of rotation(just another hour-and-a half's fun with the humidity and heat here!).

Now no squeal, AND the initial gentle running in showing some major improvement in stopping!

I am a wally, I admit it (move over E-E, you've got competition for the biggest boo-boo made!!!! )

I forgot to wipe my rear discs clean but didn't manage to put the pads round the wrong way :thumbdwn: I obviously have room for improvement

i put my calipers on upside down then spent hours trying to bleed them until i rang the master. people have done worse dont worry about it

You know the spring clip that holds the outer pad secure? Well I managed to put that on the wrong way round on a Corsa - because it was easier to put in the wrong way round

Took us ages to work out what I'd done wrong.

Not everything that's the wrong way round is necessarily a bad idea when it comes to cars and women...... (for example here - the brakes still worked but helluva squeal!!!)

SNAP a kindred spirit, I did the same when taking my 312's off the Furby and putting the old ones back on.

He should be known as Super Lummox, and wear his underwear outside his trousers!!! :)

Hell no, have you seen my underwear? Its quite disgraceful.
