Retrofit MaxiDot

Featured Replies

I have bought a used Octy II elegance, but the only options on it is the 17inch wheels.

I like MaxiDot but would like to know if this is possible to have fitted by a dealer

after manufacture?

What are the chances of me being able to do this?

Very possible, very expensive. Probably close on £1000... It simply involves buying a new dial pod with maxidot, swapping them over and then setting a few things up with diagnotic equipment.

Asked the exact same question a couple of weeks ago, but the response then was not so positive as there was some doubt about "software, settings & connections".

I would really like to know a definate answer as I am having to have the old pod swapped soon under warrenty!

Any further details would be welcome as my dealer has said they "aren't confident"!

They wont swap the dash pod for a different one under warranty as Skoda wont pay for an incorrect part to be fitted. You could however pay the £400 odd quid to have it fitted.

Quite right, basically they have suggested that "if the swap is technically possible", then I pay for the new pod and they will use the labour from the warranty to remove the old one etc. However the hold up has been the "is it technically possible" bit . The parts manager thinks the units are interchangeable, but it was the issue of software and if all the connections were there, that was more uncertain. & I don't want to special order a part that won't work.

I really fanicied the Maxi dot as I had similar on my old Bora, but got a much better deal taking a car from stock rather than factory ordering! So I don't mind spending a bit of money getting it how I want
