Has any one heard of supply problems with the 1.9 TDI power plant?

My reason for asking is that my father in law has ordered one and ha sbeen told by the garage that the whole VAG group has a supply problem with this power plant.:confused:

Hi, I was ordering a new Octy Estate 1.9 TDi yesterday, dealer found one the right colour already in the supply chain, but she did say that she heard that some 1.9 TDis were on back order since August.
