Hi We I have got my Oil filter, Oil, (Castrol Edge 5w 30) And my sump plug! now I need to know what I need to do with my VAG Com cable in order to reset the servicing. The car should be set for variable service.

Assuming you car was previously on variable intervals, all you should have to do is save a 0 as the New Value in Channel 02.

If you need to set up variable intervals, then we'd need to know complete details regarding the car (instrument cluster part number, engine type, model year, etc).

Hi thanks. Yes the car was set up for variable servicing. Is there a way to check that it still is? Not sure about he instrument cluster part no. but its an ARX engine Octavia 1.8t 4x4 Elegance.

I have also noticed that the service reminder mileage does not appear before engine start and i'm sure channel 2 is set to 0

Then it wasn't due for service yet and it will be something of a PITA to get it reset. You'll have to tweak several channels, and I can't tell you which unless I have real data from your car. If you're a verifiably registered VAG-COM user, e-mail me the particulars and I'll try to help.
