FabVRS

Featured Replies

Have recently bought & remapped a 55-plate FabVRS - excellent in most respects but two minor niggles; being new at this Briskoda thing I may have raised these queries in the wrong place - sorry about that !

1. Although dipped beam lights are xlnt, main beam lights are barely adequate even when correctly adjusted - and I understand from the local dealer that xenons are a

Maybe a company called 'Lockwood' I think that's there name anyway. They 'might' do a clearer one!

Philips Rallye H3 bulbs are very popular with Furby owners for the main beam. As far as I know, nobody has posted to say they've had problems with using these bulbs in terms of the headlight lenses. They are intended for off road use but hey, you'd dip your lights for oncoming traffic anyway!

See also Ring's new range of high wattage bulbs - not E marked for on road use but will not discolour headlight lenses. Will send you a web address where you can view them.

I stuck in some Osram Silverstars for dipped beam (30% whiter 55W bulbs) and some Philips Rallye 100W bulbs for main beam. Drove around 20k miles with that setup, including using main beam for prolonged periods of time several hours on a couple of occasions, and never had one problem with it :D

In fact, I was so impressed, they were the first mod I did on the Mondeo and they have now been in 25k miles without issue :D:rofl:

Edited to add, I got mine from Power Bulbs - autobulbs, autolamps, xenon headlights, car bulbs, headlight bulbs, osram silverstar, silver star, philips vision plus, philips blue vision, bluevision :D
