Bolts...Steel to alloys

Featured Replies

Yet another question and I have tried a search!

If my car has steel wheels and if I switch to alloys do I need to aquire a new set of wheel bolts? I seem to remember being told that steel wheel bolts will ruin alloy wheels or was this cobblers?

If I need 'em where can I get 'em cheap.... Project Pikey is about to begin.

If they are factory alloys you are fitting the bolts are identical.

That's good news. Cheers (again) Lummox.

there are ceratin different type of wheel wich do require different bolts, somw wheels have a tapered seat for the bolt and other have radiused ones, also if the wheels are a different offset you will require either longer or shorter bolts. but as already stated all factory fit wheels use the same bolts
