Faxes with small business server 2003

Featured Replies

OK where might I find some hints and tips about usefully configuring the fax service with Small Business Server 2003 and integrating it with Outlook email? As usual everything tells you 'you can do this' but not actually anything about what you want it to do!

What is required is that there is a notification of incoming faxes on two different user's PCs (XP Professional with Outlook 2003 connected to the SBS exchange server) but if one user prints/accesses/actions the fax the other knows it's been read/dealt with. Otherwise we're going to get two lots of good going out the door or no one reading faxes etc etc...

I wonder how you can achieve this... Other than actually buying a physical fax machine that is...

To deal with the second point, create a separate mailbox for all the faxes to be sent to and give both users full mailbox access. That way once its dealt with it can be moved to a subfolder of that mailbox.
