Car sticking

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have been driving my 02 skoda fabia now for nearly 3 years and I love it. Great car for me, apart from 1 problem. My rear break drums cause my car to stick when it has been stationary for a number of days or the weather has been very damp. This makes it feel like i have left the handbreak "on" on the car and it rises as the back and just will not move. Its been in the garage as some numpty, reversed into medoh.gif , and I also told them the problem I was having. They said it was a well known skoda problem and I should call them.

Apparantly it is the "rear break drums" sticking, but at w/end this caused my tyre to heat up and swell or as the garage said I had an egg in it:eek:

In the mean time I have spoken to two skoda friends in work and the same thing happens to them as well! Is anyone else having this problem?

If the brake shoes are sticking it sounds like they just need a good stirp down

and clean with a check of the return springs. With it being enclosed this is the only

thing I can think of. My rear disc pads will stick if left for a few days but will free

off after moving the car.
