fitted new stereo without ignition on and now central locking via key is dead, any ideas on how to reset it???? ta in advance for any info

Sounds like your ignition and feed wires are around the wrong way and its sending a feed down the s contact connection. Swap them over and all will be well.

A search would have brought this up ;)

ta for info did try typing in central locking reset in search only 3 hits though, will reverse wires tomorrow
