Minimum Voltage for Plipper?

Featured Replies

My plipper has been a bit intermittant recently (it's the two buttoned non folding type). It has done two peculiar things, one was the red led stayed on and got gradually dimmer over several hours before finally going out (and it wasn't locking / unlocking the car remotely, no problems with the other key). I came back to it today, removed the battery (a single button cell, CR2055 or something?) and checked the voltage across it which was 2.95V. To me, that would seem to be within the usual tolerance of a consumer battery (it was marked as being 3V). I tried unlocking and locking the car, no problems. Then after several more tests, the little LED flashed at me for about 20 seconds, then stopped, then it worked again.

Does anyone know what this might be? A low battery level? Or a dodgy plipper?

Thanks. :)

i'd try a new battery Rob , you can get them from Halfrauds , it will probably be a CR2032 battery , even though you would think 2.95v is within tolerance
