Anybody tried one of the

Will make a difference, but only by faking the car into thinking it's colder than it really is, and it overfuelling.

You really are better off saving the money and spending £400 odd at a tuner who knows what its doing, and come away with a nice 145-150bhp (assuming standard setup on the engine?)

there is a thread somewhere , maybe on here or the Seat enthusiasts site ,cant remember where ,that shows one of those plug in connectors pulled apart , its just a 10p resistor and a couple of wires ,so not worth the £25 they are charging

WTF?!

Ran something like this on my PD100 - worked very well and the best bang for buck mod I've done on any car  Imho, a remap isn't 20x better than it ;)

well if that picture is anything to go by it doesn't look that impressive.

Just looking for a modest performace gain and don't want to fork out too much cash

I'll make you one for £15 :P

Have a look on Stu's site - Fabia-vrs.com - Home Page - there's information on how to make one. It's basically a resistor which fools the car into putting more fuel into the engine. Works very effectively, imho, with no noticeable downsides (sailed through 2 MOTs :D)

I know someone who runs these on a fab vRS, they bring it up to about 150bhp, so as chris says, great bang for buck. however he gets an engine warning light, that must be cleared before dealer servicing ect..... smokes a little more, but not much :) he's run it for 40k with no related problems.. If I didn't like my warrenty so much, I'd have one ;)

edit: not for £80 though! lol... my friend bought his from e-bay, a private sale from a briskoda member for £8... now £8 is a fair price for 20 bhp!

I think the question was for a TDi Fabia ? I'd be interested in opinions how to get a little bit more without going mad. Don't want to give up the fuel consumption. I'd prefer to spend some money on stopping the car rolling round bends. My Prelude vtec is still in the drive and apart from the fuel it was such a brilliant handler but you can't heve everything (anyone wanna buy an N reg VTEC 0-60 in 6 + seconds ?)

:-)

25 quid tuning box and a set of Eibach Pro springs and dampers should sort you out nicely. At least that's what I had on my Fabia TDi. I wouldn't bother with a front strut brace and if you have cash to spare, look at the vRS front ARB and Jabba rear ARB :D
