Binding rear brakes - Fabia

Featured Replies

Hello!

Has anyone else experienced, or know whether its a common thing for rear brakes on a Fabia to bind?

My cars been humming for the past few weeks, which I thought was just a build up of dust, but after a quick clean and it still getting progressively worse I looked a bit deeper.

The rear nearside brakes and wheel become hot after a drive while all other brakes and wheels are cool. Its a vRS with 56'000 odd miles.

I assume this would be covered under warranty?

Cheers

Ross

Sounds like the pads are stuck in the caliper carrier.

Unless its a fault with the caliper (which I doubt) I doubt it will be covered under warranty.

My VRS has been in this morning to fix a similar problem. At low speeds I could hear the rear brakes squeaking slightly, had it fixed under warranty. Something to do with the caliper not returning fully so they put a weight(??) behind the disc to cure it.

Thats some thing different and yes covered by warranty but only on the Fabia.

See other threads regarding mooing brakes in reverse.

one of my rear calipers was humming when i first got my 2.0 fabia, i'm guessing that the calipers on mine are the same as the vrs?? except the colour of course??, where mine had been sat on the forcourt for ages the brake piston had siezed/corroded, so it kept sticking at a certain place
