Am a Kiwi looking at buying Octavia vRS 2.0 TDI PD when it comes on market here early Dec. Will watch your forums and threads with interest particularly relative to diesel experiences etc. Currently run Fiat Punto Sporting 1.4 and Ford Taurus Ghia (either end of the economy scale). Octavia would replace Ford, however also watching driver comments on Hyundai Sonata 2.0 CDRI (also just entering market here), which could be alternative option vice the Ford.

Welcome to Briskoda.

We have had the Hyundai Sonata over here for years, its one of the fastest depriciating cars for sale in the UK, worth virtually nothing in 3 years.

Welcome to Briskoda.

We have had the Hyundai Sonata over here for years, its one of the fastest depriciating cars for sale in the UK, worth virtually nothing in 3 years.

The hyundai sonata on sale now is a new design , and quite a good looking one at that.

Depreciation is likely to be a problem still , but if you are keeping it for the full 5 years of the warranty thats not such an issue.

The 2.0tdi in the octavia is a very good engine and on the whole it's a decent car but I am having a few little problems with mine which I'm not entirely happy with

Hello

We have a regular poster who now lives in New Zealand, who exported his Skoda from the UK. *calling RobClubley*

You might like to send him a Private Message to get some information straight from the horse's mouth, as he will probably know how the new ones being introduced stack up against other cars that they are in competition with.

FAO RobClubley: No rest for the wicked ;) Love, Mo

Helloooo!

Nice to see another member from NZ!

I'll help if I can :)

If you want some locals to tell you how good VAg cars are compared to Japanese/Korean (they're not biased, honest) have a look at www.vask.co.nz
