The Engine Management Light came on last week so I took it into the dealer this afteroon and their told me the car needs a new cat converter if this was not under warranty how much would this cost me.

Also asked about the chrome flexi pipe and their told me it was an insulation pipe which was not urgent but I am thnking of asking tm to replace it.

1.2 Cats have been known to break apart, but usually due to another fault. An intermittant missfire (coil pack) dumps fuel down the exhaust which then ignites on the cat face and gradually it breaks up.

But lambda probes are quite common.

what about the crack pipe would you get that fixed.
