blue side led's

Featured Replies

Hi all

can LED's be fited to the new vrs oct ???????

side light and back's

thanks:D

yes. you can get them off ebay as standard fitment in existing indicator / brake sockets. however, i think the cheap ones will trigger the "faulty bulb" dash warning everytime you use them as they don't have the resistance of standard incandescent bulbs and so the car thinks they've popped. they'll work though. suspect sticking a resistor in series would sort this out...?

personally blue is a bit boy racer... stick with white mate :)

1. As a Fabia driver, they DONT give a "faulty bulb" warning. Cant see that the Octavia 2 would be any different

2. Get white LED's they give blueish tinge anyway. Blue ones ARE illegal

I put "prism" ones in my leon (4 led jobs) and they triggered the fault light (as well as not working)... also for being labeled as white they are still fairly blue. There are single led ones too.. not sure how they look but suspect they would also require load resistors.

Thanks all i will try

leon1p, did you try fitting the led bulbs the other way round as they only work one way round unlike a normal bulb.

Yep.. when they were in the right way they stayed on for about two seconds then went off, same if i switched them off and on again. (the neighbours were probably wondering why i was running from the door to the front :D
