just had car serviced, all was well but will need to replace front disc's and pads soon as showing wear.

After having decided on remapin the car i thought great excuse to tell the mrs i need to replace them all lol

have been reading on here, but would like your opinions if i could on the following,

1. replace front + rear discs and pads with black diamond grooved discs and run with predator pads at a total cost of

Mate hope everything is good, just got a Silver vRS, wish I had never traded in my black one now, but back in the game, Im just about to order som 312mm discs for the front.

You don't really need to replace the rears as most of the work is done by the fronts (about 70% i think), I would probably avoid drilled, discs as they are easily warped.

so there you go, leave the rears and get 312mm at the front, same price but defo best improvement for money.

The smart was superb for handling,, most fun Ive ever had in a car, but a bit impractical, just missed the torquey drive of the Furby and the economy, so gone back, keeping the Fab, and then hopefully on to an R32...

Def 312's, I tried to change the front discs on my 172 a couple of weeks ago, nightmare, the torx screws needed to be drilled out and the calipers took ages to get off, had to call in help, might try and do the Furbys myself though as they should be easier to get off.

PS, been in Harrogate for the last 6 months, moving into our first house near Halifax next Friday, cant wait...

congrats bud, if i remember corretly your about same age as me 24/25ish,, bet the other half is happy make sure you get the garage though lol

312mm grooved discs with Ferrodo DS2500 would be my recommendation

I agree with chris, nearly got those pads for my 172 but went with mintex in the end.

Yes I am just turned 25, she is happy, no garage unfortunately, but gonna build one as have loads of space, hopefully a big double bugger...
