I drove a 150 Leon and whilst the handling was massively better, it wasn't really any quicker over various benchmarks.

20bhp before losses is nothing on the road.

Agree 20hp on the road is pretty negligable.

From what I have read the 150tdi engine is much more "petrol" like as in it revs far more freely and even though it is quoted as 150hp I have seen on the VW forum many who have rolling roaded their std 150hp at quality locations have had 170hp on the readouts so it is well under quoted on the hp.

It's noticably laggier - if you're not a revvy driver it's a bit annoying to drive.

hmm not what I was after - I want lazy progress.

Yes that's right all diesel engines are marketed as 20bhp less than their actual values

Excellent, I'd imagine i'm pushing 210 then..

I believe Ford seriously underquote theirs. Mine was last shown to be producing a snip under 500 bhp

Chris

:rofl: Very True. My Fiesta was pushing 400hp +

Ive had 2 leon 150s and 2 fabia vrs, the 150 has noticable lag but if you keep in high enough in the range its not a problem...There is not much in perfomance between the 2, the 130 is defo quicker bottom end as the turbo spools up quicker but the 150 lasts longer in the rev range...The Leon is much better handlin than the vrs and you feel more confident in the Leon in all situations due to the larger size and better handling........doubt you will find a Leon Cupra 150 TDI for 8K though...Oh and and the Golf 150s have a wood interior which is not for me !

 what he said....

Tho I felt a bigger difference between the two than others did, the 150 defo needs some stirring to get going tho....I do miss my leon mostly for the handling compared to VRS - much less nervous

my VRS is 140 odd bhp standard!:)

Knock of 10hp of your quoted figure.
