HELP!!!!!

i have got a 03 plate octavia vRS. i noticed that the clutch was slipping this week (only 41K in the clock)

i have taken it to the garage it came from and they are telling me that the clutch has worn and they will need to replace it. this will cost either

a grand for a clutch is silly money, isn't it? ...

Oh no! I have a 41k, 53 plate. EEEEEEEEEEEkkkkk!!!

not so aaarrrggghhh for me but f.y.i.

i had my clutch and dmf flywheel changed at 40k under warranty

it looks like their quoting for just clutch or clutch and flywheel

£500 = clutch at dealers £1k = DMF plus clutch plus new master cylinder at dealers at a guess

my thoughts exactly

surely even an abused one should last much longer than that.

You can wear out one much quicker than that if you abuse it ;) I do agree though that you shouldn't be needing a new clutch on a car with that sort of mileage - I've not had to replace a clutch yet (or even had the clutch slipping) and my cars tend to be sold on with 80-90k on them :D

Chris

I have seen a Fabia with 1k on the clock come in with clouds of smoke and that was the clutch burnt out.

I would say that the single mass flywheel with clutch would be ok for you.

It can give a slight vibration in neutral , but not THAT much

£320.00 + VAT we do them for and if you wanted to uprate on to a Helix set up then they are £488.00 + VAT

Hope that will help you a bit
