Whistle?

Featured Replies

Since I dont see many vrs's about can someone tell me if its normal to have alot of turbo whistle at idle and low revs - like pretty loud. Im getting suspicous about it and its lack of ooomph (might be paranoid)

'Lack of ooomph' their maybe something wrong there.

I don't get turbo whistle at idle, but after i've been driving, and stop for over 2 minutes, you can hear the turbo cooling down which is all natural. Low rev's again is all natural.

Where are you from?

I get turbo whistle when coasting in gear and it's loud enough to hear with the windows down and no music on

Im in the Highlands (largely flood doging these days) I may get it checked as its constant even from cold..good test of my local dealer see if they are friendly

Mine does have slight turbo noise at tickover and low rev maneuvers. It turns into a full grown Howl when I nail it - I can frighten old people with it!

It goes ok though.

My Fabia vRS also has a loud tickover whistle but having been in my mates vRS this seems to be normal. It seems to go well and pull strongly. I would only start to worry if it starts to wheeze as tho there is air escaping.
