Getting a Blueflame!!

Featured Replies

I have bought a Blueflame exhaust from e-bay and am now awaiting delivery. Can't wait:thumbup: . Couple of questions, can anyone tell me if it is a full system from the picture, it looks it to me but the price I paid would suggest it isn't;) . Also, what sort of power increase would i need to tell my insurance company. The exhaust has only been on a car for 300ish miles so it should be like new.

The exhaust should be better than new... it'll be coked up all nicely already, although on a derv that'll probably happen within the first 10 miles of use anyway lol

£157, not a bad price either :)

Oh, looks like a full system to me.

I assume you looked at it too, I couldn't understand why no one else bought it at that price:confused: p.s Is that silver tube on the pipe at the top, the cat?

Seems to be missing the flexi bit that goes off the exhaust manifold but I'm not an expert (at all :D )

That said even if that IS missing it is still a good price I reckon :)

Is that bit important? Will I need that to get it fitted?

It is a Cat-Back system! Not Turbo-Back.....

Oops me bad :o - in that case nope, as Snoopie says :D

Needs a better tailpipe tho ;)

That silver tube at the top, is just another box. You can get it removed if you want, but it will be super loud. Like a silencer really..

Must admit I do like the Milltek tailpipe but for me the noise of the Blueflame wins hands down!! Not too bothered about it being just a cat back as it's the noise I'm looking forward to:D Also, the extra power/torque produced would be negated by the clutch when I get it remapped (I think/hope!).

As snoopie's said, the front box is the front silencer. IMO better with than without... why make your car sound like a Nova??!

Schwarz - I didn't see the auction until after it had ended and you'd posted on here :)

Blueflame would normally be my choice as I've never been disappointed with one of their systems yet... but the Milltek twin oo's just look the business :(

If you keep the silencer in it'll be quiet until you give it some.

I have to agree, the twin oo tailpipe on the milltek systems really does look good.

So does the 6x4 Oval from Blueflame though, it fits right where the old exhaust use too. The bumper cut out is perfect for it.

I think Blueflame will do custom pipe like the 6x4 but also do a twin like the Milltek when you pay £50 extra.

IIRC someone here got a 5x3 oval tailpipe put on his from his local powerflow dealer as he didn't like the round pipe.

I'm just glad to be getting one, don't really mind the round pipe but I will make sure they turn the clamp round:eek: I think I will just tell my insurance company that it doesn't give an increase in power as it would be so small for a cat back.

It won't give a notable increase in power without a remap, just a slightly better spoolup time. The amount of extra bhp will be very low at any rate, plus the exhaust is probably slightly heavier.

That said it's great quality and will look good (and yes I have a full system from Blueflame)

The Blueflame exhaust system is lighter than the standard one!
