The battery light came on with a beep from the dash and so got the battery checked out and they said that it was on the way out.

New battery fitted and started the car, wipers were slow and dash not so bright, low and behold the battery warning light came on again.

Could this be an alternator?

Yep definetly sounds like the alternator, who-ever checked the battery shouldve checked that first really! should be getting minimum 13volts with engine running

I thought it would have been the alternator as well Paul, but the strangest thing is when it is cold. the lights are all on and you can tell straight away that they are dim.

Then after a couple of mins the battery light comes on and beeps for a second an then straight away everything is fine?

Surely this would not be the alternator as it soon charges?

Any ideas chaps.
