Featured Replies

I would like to swap the skoda badge on both the back and the front witha a VRS badge but dont want to dmage my paint work! is there a best way to get the badges off? and is there a best method to get the adhisive off the paint when the badge is removed??

PS loving the suprising power my fabia with an evo re-map is giving me! just a dab on the acceleratoe puts a beaming smile on my chops!

Use dental floss or tape to garrot the badges off, clean up with a plastic scraper and a mild solvent. White spirit, tar and glue remover or lighter fuel - but try it on a non showing bit of paint first just to be sure that it won't take it off. finally finish off with a bit of T-Cut.

I used a 2 foot length of fishing line, sawing through the adhesive with copious sprays of dear old WD40. (see the reference to Garrotting above!)

Wet the remaining adhesive with WD40 and rub away enthusiastically with someone's thumb (SWMBO?) - works a treat.

Even on a new car, you do still just make out the outlines of the original badges after using car polish/rubbing compound, especially when dusty. But it's still worth it.

If you don't like it, you can use 3M double sided tape to re-attach the badges....

To each his own....
