Hi, I'm new to Skodas, but not much else.

Hang on, I'm about to collect a Fabia vRS? How the hell did I get here?

Oooooooooooh, where to start.....

I'm a serial VW buyer historically, but I recently stepped out of line. I put a Subaru 2.2 motor in the back of a T25 Transporter, cos someone said it would be fun. Well, it was fun. Lots and lots of huge GTI embarassing fun. So I decided as I liked the engine so much I'd best try out a whole car, so I did, about a month ago I bought a Forester 2.0XT - that's the 2.0 Turbo one with about 180bhp. Wow, it was amazing - incredibly quick a..... oh, is the tank empty already?.... anyway, where was I? Oh yes incredibly quick and lots of room for things and the handling was fantastic an.... oh, the tank's empty again.

So sub 20MPG didn't really seem reasonable in any way shape or form for a daily driver. Ever. We'd test driven the Fabia previously and the only thing against it was that it was a bit small. So we've put our concerns to one side and stepped out and swapped the Subaru out for a Fabia vRS, which we should be collecting tomorrow.... provided our daughter doesn't arrive - she's only 8 days overdue so far .

I still have various VWs littering up the place and I've got plans for those in the next year. The Fabia is supposed to be a fun, frugal daily driver..... we'll see how that goes.....

 hello and welcome, yes it can be fun and frugal, averaged just under 50 mpg on the 500 mile trip to WSM at the weekend (pump not computer), 4 up and an average speed of :D

Welcome M8. You will notice the diffence in fuel consumption but not the smiles

per mile.
