Changing interior bulbs

Featured Replies

Anyone any idea how to remove the covers from the interior lights (front and rear)?

I've had a poke/pull around but the covers don't want to come off (or of course I'm just being too gentle!)

Cheers

You need to give the covers some stick to get them off. Thw whole plastic cover comes off the light fitting in one piece. Be careful as it's easy to damage the roof lining that surrounds it.

I've opened the front one once and you have to put tiny screwdriver bellow the glass on the part facing windshield. There is no need of using force. Just put the screwdriver bellow the front part and open it - it works like little door

I prised mine off with a 5 pence coin - not too much force needed.

Another thought on the subject which may or may not help depending on what you are planning to do - the centre front bulb (and the rear interior light) are festoon types. I got a replacement that was a bit smaller than the originals, but the contacts can be bent in a bit to suit.

As I've just replaced the Main & Dipped bulbs with Philips Blue Vision and each pair came with a free pair of matching W5W's. Having used one pair for the side lights I have a spare pair of W5W's and I thought I could use them in the map reading lights.
