Air bag control module fault 1.4MPI

Featured Replies

The dealer helpfully gave me a screen dump of the diagnostic software that says:

Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error

They've reset it but it comes back, so have quoted:

Module:

ouch, that is a lot of money..... but it needs to be done really.. the price sounds about right to me, you could get it done cheaper by an independant garage, but stuff like airbags is probably best left to the dealers

Not another fault! Your car is like my cars more badly behaved brother! Im needing a new indicator stalk now , £40 plus around half hours labour to fit , coz my lights wont go on to main beam!

PS are you sure it was the cambelt that was changed on your car? The reason I ask is that the 1.4 8V engine doesnt use a belt , it has a chain driven camshaft! Is yours a 16V?

Well they billed me for changing the cambelt (I gather Skoda reduced the interval in May this year) so I sincerely hope it does have one! I still have a piece of the tensioner in front of me that came away and nearly resulted in a toasted engine.

Actually the dealer is going to contact Skoda to see about some "goodwill" gesture due to the amount it's cost recently (not that I hold out much hope).
