Hi all, can i service my starter motor, after the engine has started i get a whine so i assume the shaft on the starter isnt retracting quickley enough, i am more than capable of doing it but if you cant service it then need to source another, any help for a replacement ?

the starter spins in a bush in the gearbox casing i think , dryness in this causes the squeak , you could lubricate this with a small amount of copper grease
