Log of files copied on Win Server 2000?

Featured Replies

Basically, we have a employee leaving in the near future and would like to see, if possible, what that person has copied from a particular server.

Is any information like that stored? I know it was possible under Netware, but those days are gone now :)

Cheers,

Steve

I have a "friend" who is leaving his job in 2 weeks and he copied loads of stuff and burnt CD's, I would be interested if you can trace this so I could tell him.

You'll need to enable auditing for the directories in question

As Dr Z says - not unless you turn on auditing, and it's likely that unless you did that a long time ago, it's probably too late now.

Right-click -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> Auditing

Results are written to the security event log.
