FAO people with ABD Lan kits

Featured Replies

Still having problems with mine at the moment causing the car to missfire.

Spoken to Jabbasport and they say it is a common problem with the pipe being 75mm and the MAF 70mm. With the silicone connection hose causing turbulance because of the size difference.

I have put ring of rubber on the MAF to make it the same size. Took it out today and found the following

From a standing start to !00 ish the car is ok but if you sit at 70 and put your foot down it starts to miss.

Has anybody else had the same problem as it will soom be heading in the bin.

Noticed the Carbonio system seems to be the same size as the MAF from pics posted.

Any help would be great.

Paul,

Haven't had any problems in that respect so far only the bolt shear. Mike said mine was OK when he checked it out although he did say beforehand he didnt recommend them because of that missmatch in size.

Sounds to me like something else if it missfires under light load in 5th at 70,does it do it in lower gears at 3000 revs and have you had the coils checked out?

When i had it chipped at Jabba i had a different filter on.

If i remove the Lan kit and put on my old filter the car is ok so it's not the coil packs.

Car is fine around town due to the fact the air is not being forced into the filter like at motorway speeds.

Car it going into the dealers on tuesday for something else so i will get them to check the coilpacks while i am there.

When did you have it remapped as if it was before Des who also had a LAN, it may have got a slightly different mapping and Mike will confirm his maps evolve all the time.

If the dealer runs diagnostics they should see what caused the missfire. If all is well then suggest you get Mike to take a look at it and see what he finds.

Mine was mapped with the LAN on and I dont have any probs (apart from the bolt shearing like Chris')

Going to have another play with it tomorrow afternoon.

Car was remapped in november last year and was purchased new in september 53 plate.

I have had the bolt shearing as well. The joy of modding cars!!!!!!!!
