17978 P1570 Contr.Module Locked - Whats locked and what does it mean ??

00532 - Supply Voltage B+ - Xenons ????? It hasn't got any as far as i know ??

thanks for any further info you angels may be able to offer ! :)

Going to get a nice new bosch in the morning... :) ta.

Can anyone shed any further explanation on the actual codes ??!

they might clear themselves after the battery is fitted , retest when its fitted

Sounds like a Voltage problem to me, either due to battery/alternator or a bad connection somewhere.

00532 - Supply Voltage, obviously indicates this.

17978 - Engine Control unit disabled. An ECU can do this if it detects that the supply voltage is unstable and so cannot operate reliably.

Therefore find the reason for the supply voltage problem, Clear the fault codes, and don't buy a new ECU yet!

Already had the alternator replaced last year ( maybe less than 3000miles ago ) so a new battery in the morning beckons.

Right, bit of an update, changed the battery for a nice bosch silver ( the one in my bug has lasted 7 years, so they can't be bad.. :D )

cleared all the codes etc and still got all the same problems :(

must be the steering sensor i suppose from reading all the other threads...

going to phone customer care in the morning and see what they say..

God i hate new cars.

Also check if there are any earthing straps loose/rusted or anything like that. A snapped one of those killed my Citroen ZX eventually :(
