Pleased with my BLT vRS (completely standard)

There is a poor flatspot around 1700 rpm but it does not seem to stutter much.

The first thousand miles running in I only averaged 51mpg. I have found the computer to be very inaccurate so these figures are brim to brim. The computer overreads between 10 to 20%.

The last 3000 miles I have averaged 54.25 (always on Shell Diesel extra)

I am very pleased with it .I love the torque, it just storms up hills .

I'm sorry to hear how much other BLT owners have suffered with the dreaded stutter.

Hopefull, I have a BLT engine in my 06 VRS and I have enjoyed it also. I think I have less mpg though, lots of hills to accelerate hard up!!!

I'm getting about the same 51/52mpg for first to tanks @ 1,100 miles (56vRS) - bit of a shock going from 65 to 70mpg of my 34k 100PD! Don't forget to check the oil! Mine was at the minimum on the dipstick at this mileage.

My trip computer is a full 13mpg over optimistic! Hopefully there is a way to get this corrected. I'm not expecting to get above 50mpg :( now that the cold weather has set in...looking forward to 60mpg+ in next summer.
