can anybody help

i have a 1.8 vrs 2002 and the gearbox has started messing about so im going to replace it

does any one know whaty vw box crosses over and does a 6 speed box fit as mine is a 5 speed

The gearbox from either Golf,A3,Jetta,Leon would fit - would need to make some mods for 6 speed - although it has been done.

But to get a better response I would post in the Octavia forum not the NEW Octavia forum.

The other choice would be to let a gearbox specialist take a look - might not need to go down replacement road.
