My Furby was serviced about 5000 miles ago. Got in the car today and the inspection message is flashing. Why would this be? The car was recently serviced, is not on variable. Could it be that they have not reset the Vag Com correctly? Or is there something I am missing?

I had the same thing happen on my present car and also on a previous vrs. I was told it was for oil (only) and was for variable service even though the cars are not on variable (in this country). They did have an oil change at 10000 miles.

My last service in line with the schedule book was an oil service only 5000 miles ago :(

*Car is almost 2 years old and done 33000 miles and had three services so far.

I have spoken to my main dealer and still have an issue with this. The cars service history is as follows:

10,000 oil and filter service (less than a year)

17400 annual service (November last year)

27000 oil and filter service (5000 miles ago)

Car now at 33000 miles and insp indicator on

Now that makes three services at just over 30,000 miles on a car that needs servicing every 10,000 miles (10,000 x 3 = 30,000)

The dealer now wants me to pay for an annual service at a cost of

Hi mine did the same (flashed oil). It's a problem with the reseting on a Fabia or something (according to D M Keith). I took the car back and they reset it no questions asked.

The service manager has left so I am now dealing with a new person and he wont reset it. I called another dealer and they agreed it is not yet due for a service and said ignore the flashing message!

If you look in the manual, you can reset this yourself...

It's nothing to worry about, it comes on randomly occasionally, as long as you are having your car serviced every 10k or every year you are fine, a dealer asking for an extra service is ripping you off and should be reported to skoda UK!

mine did the same too, my 04 that is, the counter got to 15,000 and the light came on cause it was still set to come on with the KM intervals and thought 15,000 miles was 15,00-km!!
