I've fitted an Alpine in my Octavia - when I took out the original factory fitted stereo i just reconnected it just to see if it would ask for a code... and it did Problem is I have looked all over in the manual and can't see any mention of the code.

Is there software out there that can help me find the code for the original stereo? I'd like to be able to fit the original one back in a few months when I come to sell the car. I dont want to go to a dealers and bend over backwards for the code, when Im sure there must be a 'free' way???

It's around £15 from the dealers.

You could try a third party but they'd charge you. I've not seen any freely available 'calculators' for the Skoda stuff.
