Vrs hatch making it 4x4

Featured Replies

how easy is it to make the vrs 4x4 can you use the tt 6 speed quattri box or is there a better one

Think there'd be issues with housing it...the 4x4 has a higher boot floor...

Rob.

Forget it. If you want a fast 4x4 Octy, buy a 4x4 hatch and tune it.

hum but isnt the floorpan the same between a 4x4 hatch and fwd ?

Yes and No - in exactly the same way that an Audi A4 quattro has or hasn't the same floorpan as a FWD. The rear suspension on the Octavia and the exhaust silencer are totally different.

Take the advice - buy a 4x4 and vRS it !

hum nah hehe will just try get as much down through 2 wheels lol

The rear suspension on the Octavia and the exhaust silencer are totally different.

so is the floorpan itself - well from the centre tunnel / rear seat / rear floor is all different

add a few chassis mounts as well

not impossible - but not a cheap 5 min mod either :p

by the way - anyone get me a pic from a VrS with these bars in situ ?

fitted left and right by the rear seats as a reinforcement - wonder if its a cheap mod :p

Have a look at some of the prices (less VAT) which I posted in the following thread:

At a conservative estimate the cost of parts involved would be somewhere near the cost of buying a 4X4 new!
