Warning beeps with Pioneer

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Pioneer DEH-P70BT, which when I fitted a while back, I switched over the red & yellow connections within the supplied adapter loom, in order to retain pre-sets etc. This was all working fine for several months, but now it has a problem, in that when I turn off the ignition, I get 5 warning beeps from the car. If I switch back the red & yellow connectors, the beeps go away. I strongly suspect that there is a problem with either the adapter loom or the HU itself - anyone any ideas / advice..?

btw - I have already been advised to buy an autoleads adapter, but this is proving easier said than done. (the one for the vw doesn't have the right connection into the Pioneer). One audio leads seller has advised me that they only do the original loom replacement for that particular stereo (from Pioneer), but it will cost

I have a pioneer 77mp3 and get these beeps when i switch ignition off and leave the faceplate on! If it's the same its a warning system in the HU to tell you to take the face off for security.

Or is it something different?

Ian :)

No, it's the car beeping, not the HU. Also, it happens whether the faceplate is on or not...
