Service Intervals - in India!

Featured Replies

"The Octavia has a one year unlimited mileage warranty and two years rust and paint warranty with two free services at an interval of 7500 kms within one year it virtually assures you of trouble free driving pleasure."

Lifted from the Skoda India official web site...

Presumably down to climate? I would imagine if you set your Indian Skoda to variable servicing and waited 15k miles you'd be able to take the car to the dealers in a cardboard box.

Turbo Boss in Panama City has to get his Octavia serviced every 5000km.

That two year rust warranty seems a bit strange though - don't we get

10 years over here, and that's with our miserable weather?

I was under the impression cars didn't rust much in India, which is

why they have quite a high proportion of old cars on the road?

Not that I really know what I'm talking about (again)...

 thats a novel way to look at it! More like the high cost prevents people from buying new cars.

Well, speaking with a little more first hand knowledge that comes from owning an Octavia in India, the short service intervals are a necessity here. The dust, lousy fuel quality and terrible roads mean 5,000km's of usage here would be equal to about 15,000km on normal EU roads.

Whatever you do do not hit a cow, the damage would be horrendous.

warranty period has now been increased to 2 years unlimited milage .
