Can the autolocking feature after 30 seconds be disabled?

Featured Replies

Hello, can i disable the autolocking feature after 30 seconds from the time you press the open key in fob? I do not mean the antihijack but the one that when you unlock the car and do not open any door within 30 seconds the car autolocks.

Thanks

Sure you can disable it -- by opening the door...:-)

I'm not aware of any other way. This "feature" exists so that if the car is unlocked unintentionally, perhaps as you put the key in your pocket, or by someone else's remote which happens to have rolled to the same code as yours, it will lock again if none of the doors have been opened, rather than sitting there unlocked for all eternity.

Sure, but there is a reason that i do not like this, that is that the passengers door is faulty (i suppose a switch) that sends the signal of an opened door, so if i open the passengers door and leave the keys in the car, it will auto close the doors:(

The obvious solution is to fix the switch.

VAG-COM does not fix problems. It helps you diagnose them so you can fix them. Check in measuring blocks on that module. Somewhere, you'll find the state of that switch. If you can't find it, post up the part number of the control module.
