If it was me, to save the hassle and agro I would spend another £100 or so getting someone to professionally remove all the scratches, even if that's with some kind of "detailing" work that needs doing. Some time I'll get someone to detail my car's paintwork as I don't do much more than just wash it.

Approved used Skodas come with a 30 day / 1000 mile exchange warranty....

Speak to the dealer (before the 1000 miles are up) if you are not happy and get him to put things right.

As above, backed a dodgy Octy TDi myself. Dealer wont tell you about the 30 day exchange plan but you have the right to give it back. Have a look on Skoda's website.
