OE Bridgestones on a vRS.

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just a quick question about the OE bridgestones on a vRS. I have an '06 on an 06, and its now covered 5.5k miles. At 5k had the tyres swapped front to rear, as the fronts, although they had just over 5mm seemed to go off, and the front grip seemed to disappear. Swapping the tyres has temporarily cured this.

Has anyone else found this, and if so did the grip levels recover as the tyres wore more, or did you just bin the OE tyres and fit something else?

Have looked at the posts on other tyres and have an idea of what I'll be fitting when the time comes, but want to get a bit more life out of the Bridgestones first.

Thanks

Mark

Mine have covered just over 5k and im pretty disapointed with them at the moment but I had put it down to the wet weather, I suppose it might be worth changing them around.

Mine did 14k getting down to 2-3mm all round and I swapped them for Toyo T1r's and then did 17k and two track days on them (I still have them for just track days).

I found the Bridgestones ok and the grip was consistant through the life of the tyre, but compared to the Toyo's which are in a different league performance and price wise (They are are usually cheaper) they are crap. The Toyos seemed to burn more fuel though.

I swapped to Michy Pilots as I had a really good deal on them and have always found them good for 25k on other cars despite a lack of traction. I have done 8k on them and the are down to 5mm so I am assuming these will do around 18k when swapped. Fuel economy is also better with these.

A lot of people on here tend to go for F1's, Toyos or Pneros. I personally found the Toyos gave great alround traction and grip and lasted well especially considering the pounding they have had (
