Heres one I made earlier:

Like I say in the above linked thread, the problem is probably that the aerial wiring is earthing against the chassis somewhere other than behind the headunit.

chears for that, should be able to get it sorted now.

Hi there, that's my thread you've got a link to there!:)

I originally bought the recommended one from halfords - pc-52 or something similar and it made no difference, if anything it was actually worse so I removed it and started the thread for advice.

The crunch came the other day when the head unit stopped working on the way home from work one night (it used to do that in my old car, never did find the bad connection!) so I ripped it out and eventually got it working again, only to find the radio reception virtually non existant:mad: .

I went straight to halfords and bought another booster as I had tried soldering my original booster straight onto the head unit without success.

Sat in the carpark the reception was really bad so I plugged in the new booster and got a noticable improvement this time when the power was applied.

I've come to the conclusion that the first booster was faulty (and I've read other people's posts that back this up) but as I've messed around with it I can't return it.

The signal is a lot better now but there are still poor areas around here but I always suffered that in previous cars with other head units so I guess that my local town is just cack!

Hope this helps someone, I probably should post an update in the other thread too:doh:
