think this pic may help? thats if your talkin bout the hose that comes from the front end (on pic in line with Bonnet clip?) conects via an adapter to the cold air system?????

just found this pic  IMG_1873.jpg

Is it a thick hose or more of a thin vacuum hose?

As per Bodies pic; or otherwise get a small filter to put in the end of it......... Has worked fine on my Octy for the last 2 years

That's the Secondary Air Injection hose. It's only used on cold startups to SUPOSSEDLY help warmup the cats faster. You can install a small filter if your CAI kit didnt bring an adapter.

I wondered what it was for :) Carbonio supply a small filter for the end

Thanks guys, I was concerned as now my Bosch valve makes the Pssh noise which rang my alarm bells that it should'nt really be doing that, or does it not matter?

Anyway thanks loads, the mechanics were I work told me not to put on a cold air intake kit, but the guys who re-mapped my car said '' do put one on as it does add more punch''

So if I buy one of those small air filters and stick it on the end of that hose, it will be fine? as my kit did'nt come with an attachment for that hose.

Thanks Again

The CAI just amplifies the pshh noise - with a standard intake you can just about hear it if you listen carefully.

If you fit a DV30 or similar it gets louder still!

By the way, make sure the pipe is secured to something. The guy I bought my Carbonio from had a problem where his got caught in the cooling fan (sounds painful!)

By pumping oxygen on to the surface of the cat it does warm up quicker (think of blowing on glowing embers), it also dilutes the emissions slightly.

All looks interesting, may get one of those. Does it do anything for 3rd gear acceleration.

probably wont make a blind bit of difference on your otherwise totally standard car Delcac.

The Jabba kit comes with a JR filter and adaptor for that hose. Might be worth speaking to them to see if they will sell you the small filter on its own.

Well guys I got a small air filter and attached it, went for a quick run at an old army barracks in Lanark.

Ounce I stop I checked everything and the pipe was very warm and to the filter so its fine now.

Strongly suggest to anyone that angel tuning I found to be great for re-mapping etc.

Did you mean a forge DV30 dump valve as my friend has one kicking about from is Audi TT if that will work I'll tax and M.O.T it from him.

Thanks guys yet again

The DV30 is definitely made by Bailey. The Forge equivalent is a 007P

But yes your mate's one should be fine.
