Cathedral in the dark

Featured Replies

I love cathedrals and have always wanted to take pics of one in the dark (odd I know!) but it's one of those things I just never seemed to get round to. Today, however, I seized my opportunity. While in Liverpool I went to the Anglican Cathedral, and, battling gale force winds armed with my little Canon Ixus 50 and no tripod, I took these. They aren't perfectly clear as the ISO was as high as it would go to try and get some light! I will try again in better conditions if I get the chance!

Nice pics. I particularly like the first one - shame it's the least clear :(

Sorry mate, feel free to have a pop at Manchester.

Nothing wrong with Manchester either lol

Nice pics btw

very good,

a lower ISO will stop them looking grainy

also as you said a tripod will help with longer exposures

still nice pics tho

yea liverpool is ace :D

I had ISO that high to try and get some light lol. If there'd been better conditions I'd have had time to mess about and get better ones. I want an SLR for things like this lol
