Hi everyone

My name is Kris, I am a 23 year old VAG enthusiast here for some tips and guidance.

I am currently the extremely proud owner of a 1995 Audi S2 Coupe, the most awesome car I have ever owned and something which I have wanted for a long long time.

But.

In March I will be starting a new career as, love it or hate it, a police officer. The training I will be going through will mean that I will be travelling quite a bit, and I will therefore be looking for something a bit more economic than 18mpg.

Going from a 280bhp (it is slightly modified) sports coupe to something "economic" is not an easy task I can assure you. So here I am with what comes next.

The current thought is for, you guessed it, an Octavia vRS. It fulfills the three main criteria:

VAG Marque

Fast enough for fun

More economical than an S2

In addition it is a bit different in the vag community, something of a sleeper, and if it is good enough for my new employers response vehicles then it is good enough for me!

Anyhoo, thats enough for now, hopefully this site will be of assistance to me!

BTW, this is my current steed:

Cheers, Kris

Nice car, a friend of mine once had one of the old 80's "quatro's" I loved that car!

anyway, the octy is a good choice, and driven carefully , should see closer to 40 mpg if you cruise at 70 mph.... and if you miss the audi's power, have a look at a re-map, one member on here has a markI octy 4*4 estate, that is giving more than 400BHP!! no word of a lie, and thats a real sleeper, if you do a search, his RR power graph is on here somewhere... (more than just a re-map of course! lol...)

anyway, a standard re-map should see you around 220 bhp, alot of police forces re-map their octy's anyway, I know of a certain tuner in Chesterfield that did a couple of marked police octy 4*4 estates... they wern't 'just' 150 bhp when the police got their hands on them! lol...

anyway, welcome to briskoda :)
