Headlight Bulbs Octavia Two 4x4 1.9

Featured Replies

I wish to replace the headlight bulbs on an 'on order' Octavia 4x4 1.9 TDi.

Is it just the low beam bulb that is usually relaced and is this an H7 ?

I presume it is the same bulb as on any standard Octavia 2.

In other words what replacement bulbs do I order, I presume it would be a pair of H7's.

Thank you

Assuming it has the same lights as the FWD Octy then you need H7's for the Dip and H1's for the mains - the fogs use H8's which are not worth changing.

Halfords Super Brilliance (150%) came out top in a recent Auto Express test and were on buy 1 get one free last week.

Whatever you do only buy known brands - Halfords own, Osram or Philips and don't waste money on the 'Blue' bulbs. Do NOT buy unknown or strange brands from Ebay the ones tested by Auto Express all came out as worse than standard bulbs

Correct!

I choose the Philips Blue Vision from Power Bulbs - autobulbs, autolamps, xenon headlights, car bulbs, headlight bulbs, osram silverstar, silver star, philips vision plus, philips blue vision, bluevision and used the extra W5W freebes fro the internal map reading lights :)

On taking delivery of my Octavia 4X4 1.9, I asked the dealer to fit replacemnt Phillips X-treme main and dipped bulbs. I had to acknowledge in writing that the warranty for the vehicle would no longer apply to the head lights!

I have been using them for two years now, they are excellent.

Note: Although twice having the headlamps realigned to check they are not in the face of oncoming drivers I still have to turn the headlights down to the figure 1 on the dashbord control so that they are slightly pointing down from the norm. If they are left as set they seem to be to bright for oncoming drivers.

Thanks - a good long term test update there!

How many miles have you done in the last 2 years?

I won't ask how many of them were done in the dark and needed the lights on!
