Hello and Help (alloy Wheels)

Featured Replies

New to this gathering and thought I'd give you all a chance to help (particularly any of you with connections to dealers).

Purchased a nice unused set of Votex alloys off ebay, complete with TUV certification detailing vehicle fitments (Octavia, Audi A4, Golf, Beetle etc) - supplied as usual with those dull VW centre caps.

Caps fortunately had a Skoda part number embossed on the rear.

Part 1U0 071 214. (Badge 60mm diameter, Cap approx 62mm)

Thought I'd give my local dealers atry with no luck - one did at least recognise the number but said thay were no longer available.

Contacted Skoda UK who tried to insist that no such part ever existed, and that the wheels were only ever intended for a Seat Leon.

Don't like to think that they couldn't be bothered but that's the impression I was given.

Anyone got any ideas of where I could source these items if the dealers appear disinterested?

Might be worth doing the "fed up customer - why are your dealers disintertested" bit to Skoda customer services.

Also might be a part not listed for UK cars.

If no joy in UK try PM'ing the Mattijs who posts as Dutch4x4, hes in holland as is a very helpful guy

Thanks - I'll give the foreign correspondents a line for help!

The part number you have given does indeed point to these being non-Skoda parts - as most wheel centre caps listed on ETKA start 1U0601 or 6U0601

VAG group part number's breakdown into various components i.e

1U0 - 1st three normally relate to a model type(ie 1J is Golf)

601 - 2nd Set normally relate to a Main Group(ie Body) then subgroup(ie Wing)

214 - last set are specific part number - quite often followed by a letter or groups of letter - a single letter is normally part revision where a part has been modified or changed in some way - a group of letters and numbers is usually a trim code (ie 01Z) for black on a lot of trim parts

Can you take a picture of said wheels for us?

We stock a variety of centre caps for alloys in all VAG branding.

I have SEAT wheels on my Fabia and the std centre cap from the vRS Fabia wheel slotted straight in.

?id=2621850&outx=600&oq=0

Hope this helps.

I got the same centre caps as in the piccie above in my 17s too. They were from my dealer though who found them on the parts system straight away. To say they don't do them is cr4p! They should at LEAST be able to order what they have down as "skoda alloy centre caps" and you can offer them up. Thats what I did, walked into my dealer with a 17" alloy under my arm... got some bemused looks from staff. :D
