FAH Linux Guide

Featured Replies

More detail to come when i get back to my linux systems, but for now:

- Download the Linux client from the FAH download page:

Download Folding@Home

- Add a user to your system for folding at home, such as FAH.

- If it is not already installed install 'screen'

- Extract the FAH client into a directory for each client you wish to have running.

eg folding1, folding2, folding3 etc.

- In each directory run './FAH-Linux -configonly' to configure each client.

You can have up to 8 clients running on a single OS, and to do this you need to set the ID to a different number for each client.

- Open a terminal window and type 'screen' to open a new screen session.

- In the screen session change to the directory for the client you want to run, then run the executable.

- To exit the screen session leaving folding running press 'CTRL'+ A' then D.

Repeat the stages from running 'screen' for each client you want to run.

To reattach to a screen session type 'screen -r'
