Tom Tom Vs Talex Lite

Featured Replies

Question for users with experience of both. Is there any benefit of the Talex Lite over a Tom Tom One with the Speed Camera database?

Yes - hopefully the TT1 will tell you where you are going and how to get there!!

Talex is much more accurate I find. And you don't get alerted to ones on the other side of the road.

The camera database on the TT is just a bit of an added bonus IMO; it was never meant to be its prime function, so it does a pretty good job considering.

I was wondering about the speed camera warning abilities really, but you knew that ;)

The TT does show all speed cameras, whether its on your route or not... Its an option...

I agree it isnt meant to be a camera detector but for double the price you get a classy sat nav which tells you where cameras are AND lets you know where to go!

Agreed, but the locations are quite as accurate as with the Talex, and you get bothered with cameras on parallel roads (a problem particularly on motorways).

As I've said, it's not a bad system as an addition to the navigation, but for a complete solution Talex is better - because it's designed from the ground up for the purpose.

For the money that the Talex costs it's got to be worth getting one. If you want a SatNav, get one but get a Talex as well.

The Talex does things like shout out to you the camera is ahead, the speed limit and she even tells you to slow down if you are going to fast towards the camera.

I find the Talex is a better solution than my TomTom.
