I need to know how I can remove the driver's side rear door trim on an Octavia Mk1, as water is leaking onto the interior sill when it rains, and it then leaks into the footwell. The car is misting up regularly because of it, which is a real pain.

So far I have managed to remove the star headed screws around the trim, and also removed a screw under the electric window switch panel. When I try to lift the door panel up and off, it will not come up or off. Am I missing some other screws? I wondered whether there were screws attaching the door handle to the door, but I can't see a way of removing any trim from the handle. Can anyone help?

I can see where the water is coming from when I pull the door trim away from the door a little - there is a plastic sheet covering the metal door, and it is not stuck down properly, allowing rainwater to drip down between the door trim and the metal door. Unfortunately I can't get to it sufficiently without removing the trim.

hi you are missing the screws behind the door handle you need to pull the top layer of the door handle off it is a bit tricky but it does.. once you have got this off there are two more screws under there hope this helps the new membrains are not expensive a couple of quid each just done mine for the same reason
