can I get a decent vrs

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I'm seriously thinking about changing cars, and I've had my eye on a fabia vrs for years!

They are now just about coming into my price range (they seem to hold their value well!)

Whats the chances of getting a decent one for

AG Morley has one for sale in your price range ... check the classifieds section mate.

yeah I saw that but he needs shot ASAp and I need to sell the my car first :(

it sounds like a real bargain though, I'm guessing it unusually cheap?

They have been around for a few years now so you should be able to get one in your budget without too much trouble.

They are starting to be sold on here quite regularly at the right price

If you can wait around 6-9 months you can have my standard 55 plater for around £7.5k!

oooohhhh thanks, good spot, Oxford not too far from me either....

Lol, it might take me 6 months to sell mine anyway!

Goatboy - had to do a Google on Jewson Skoda to check you were replying to me.

Yup, it's a damn good price. And it's Silver. Ours looks magnificent.

Lots of vRS's about but I'd rather a low mileage 04 than a high mileage 05/ 06 anytime.

As I said, ours feels as tight as new - though we thought we had a suspension bush knock, turned out to be nasty speed bumps, nose was tapping on ground as it came off them (hadn't considered that - duh, lowered suspension etc).

Re the 20k service - if it hasn't been done then they shouldn't really be advertising it for sale- so if you're going for this one AND it hasn't been done then I would insist on it being included in the price.

surely they'll all take a hit in price when the new Fabia II is out? Worth hanging on.

That might not be the case as the VRS II won't be out for some time. If they stop making the MK1 the price could hold.

when is the mark II out then?

I think someone said that Silver one was sold now.

I would say you should have no problem finding a decent one for that money.

Edit: I know my search is from

Yep, I agree. Should be achievable for the money.

looks like they start turning up around £8k then...

Thanks for all the help everyone. I might pop into my local dealers tomorrow and see what they got...

The one at Jewsons is no longer being advertised - someone got a bargain

I'm sure you'll be able to pick one up at that price. However don't expect prices to fall when the Fabia II arrives, you'll have to wait for the Fabia II VRS for that to happen.

Hmmmm... I'm not sure that is the case (having had experience in different cars before and getting burnt!)

When the new model comes out people will then start waiting for the mark II vrs, thus won't be in the market for the original and prices start to fall. Also those people who were previously thinking "should I get a brand new more basic model or a year old vrs" will go for a more basic mark II over a mark I.

Although I might be talking cr@p

It may not happen in this case as it is seemingly such a sought after car with great residuals...

I have just bought a mid 04 yellow vrs with 35k for
