Anybody any experience of the tyre cap pressure monitors ?

Seem to be two types - one you have to press in to get a reading, the second (I fancy) which shows green, yellow, red (for correct, 3psi under, very low) without having to press anything.

Both pretty naff to be honest.......... not to bad if you have short valves fitted as they stick out miles:O Best to just check your pressures more often.

Got a set for my wife's motor and they were cr*p - stick out miles and never changed colour.

SWMBO's Dad swears by the coloured valves and has bought a set for each of his cars. Seem to work well, although he did have a set pinched off his last car :eek: I couldn't justify 20 quid for a set of dust caps so I just have the 99p ones and check my pressures regularly....

Found a local dealer that fitted my new tyres , and they fill them with a Nitrogen mixture. Less leaking and less need to re inflate , has worked well for me over 12k miles and still correct pressure . They do a refill service for £6 . Check if any fitters exist in your area worth a try . see attached quotes

The equipment used by Tyre Zone, called TyreSaver, is supplied by the local Maidstone office of global engineering giant Parker Hannifin.

TyreSaver produces nitrogen from compressed air using Parker's proprietary hollow-fibre membranes.

When compressed air is fed through the hollow fibre membranes, the oxygen and water vapour in the compressed air are separated through what is known as selective permeation, the end product being a stream of NITOGEN ready to inflate the tyres.
